Dear West Coast Regional RI Ambassadorial Scholar Orientation Participant:
This year's event will take place on February 3rd and 4th, 2012 at the Doubletree/Hilton Hotel, 2050 Gateway Place in San Jose, California. The hotel is about 4 blocks from the SJ International Airport. There are shuttle buses from the airport to the Hotel and they are free. The phone number is 408-453-4000.
We ask that you make reservations directly with the hotel this year as it was too confusing for us last year with registration for the event and coordination of everything. So help us simplify things by making your own reservations. The Hotel is reducing its rates substantially for us. Your $85 registration fee is to cover the cost of dinner Friday night, Breakfast and Lunch the following day and snacks mid-day. These are the only meals included in the package. The rest is on you.
I encourage all in-bound and out-bound scholars to attend, alumni, host counselors, club sponsors, Foundation chairs, Scholarship chairs, DGN's, DGE's and DG's if possible. All Rotarians are welcome and should be encouraged to attend if they have an interest in Ambassadorial scholars. We are also encouraging District GSE teams to come as well for the training. Most Districts have budgets that should cover the registration for their teams. The training and skills one learns in this seminar are invaluable for presentation skills training and future talks. We've all had them...and this makes it easier!
