West Coast Ambassadorial Scholarship Training FAQ's

1)  Who should attend?  All in-bound and out-bound scholars, alumni, host counselors, club sponsors, Foundation chairs, Scholarship chairs, DGN's,  DGE's and DG's if possible. All Rotarians are welcome and should be encouraged to attend if they have an interest in Ambassadorial scholars. We are also encouraging District GSE teams to come as well for the training.

2)  What does it cost for the training?  The training itself is $75, and that covers Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and mid-afternoon snacks.  The full $75 is due regardless of meals that you might miss.

3)  How much does the hotel cost?  The room charge this year for a single or double is $89 plus tax ($99.88 total). For 3 to a room the charge is $99 ($110.97 with tax).

4)  How much is parking?  $6.00. If you charge to your room, you will have total in and out capability at no additional charge.  If you choose to not charge to your room, you will have to pay every time you leave the parking lot.

5)  Can I use my Ambassadorial Scholarship money to get reimbursed for the hotel, parking and registration?  Yes. Up front you need to pay for your travel, room and the registration fee, with our without your District financial support. After the event you simply need to petition RI for approval for your reimbursement. Please make sure to keep your receipts for presentation. It is not allowed to charge your scholarship funds for the expenses of a spouse/partner at the Orientation.

6)  When does the training start, and when do I have to be there?  Registration is from 2PM - 4 PM, Friday, February 19th.  The first session begins at 4 PM sharp, Friday the 19th. It is mandatory that you attend.

7)  What is the Dress Code?  Business casual for all sessions.

8)  Is there a charge for Wi-Fi connectivity?  Yes, in guest rooms it is $12.95 per day.  In all of the public areas Wi-Fi is free.

9)  What if I only wish to attend the Friday evening dinner session?  You are more than welcome, just fill out the on-line registration, pay the fee and you are set.  It is mandatory that all Ambassadorial Scholars attend the full session.

10)  Can my spouse/partner attend any of the sessions?  Guests may attend any of the sessions as long as the regiistration fee or meal fee for Friday night has been paid.
